Mission
To fight hunger by efficiently collecting and distributing food, through partner agencies, to our area’s needy and poor.
Operations
The Loaves and Fishes bears its own cost for running a business with no government funding. The Loaves and Fishes is deeply dependent on the contributions it receives from donors. The backbone of the Food Bank is you.
The daily operations of the warehouse basically consist of three steps:
• Collecting food
• Sorting & inventorying food
• Distributing food
Background |
The Loaves and Fishes is a private, nonprofit 501(c)3 that has been serving the Fort Worth Community and Metroplex since 1982. We had an extensive arson fires in July of 2006 while no insurance was in place. There is now a new Excutive Director and Board of Directors. Fortunately, with the help of donations and volunteers, the building has been cleared of debris, the roof has been repaired, the building is now secured from vandals and we are ready to move forward with more repairs. We need Electrical, Plumbing, Drywall, AC Heating/Cooling assistance. We have one of the largest walk in cooler and walk in freezer in the metroplex that both need repairs. Your help and financial support is still needed!
The food bank supplies food to several food pantries, nursing homes, individuals, families and other relief agencies. Our 33,132 square foot warehouse and office space is all at one central location.
